Have a retro weekend
Here's an idea, make a weekend were all skills both buffed and nerfed are returned to their original specs, and all items that were removed from the game because of balancing issues be restored, and attributes also that were nerfed be restored to original specs.
Lastly make all materials fix at starting prices, but limit 100 per account can be bought, this way some of us that are not ultra rich can afford some nice armor with out resorting to mass farming or gold buying.
Good idea or bad idea?
Please don't mention anything about being overpowered or balance, the whole idea is to allow players to go crazy for a little bit and have fun, and also to experience why skills, items, and such needed to be balanced.
Lets learn from our folly.

Ditto. I would love the chaos of IWAYs and para teams with GftE pre-nerf running rampant through PvP. I'd like to see it every 6 months, just to show ignorant people why there is skill balancing.

I would agree with a 'sealed deck' arena, in which skills may have different behavior, but only if that happens inside there.
Otherwise people would forget about PvP and go farming like mad the whole weekend.
And of course, no XP/Faction rewards there. Just to show the skills in use.

Would be ecto madness! I'm sorry but the idea is so so.

The idea of the reversal of AOE nerf is the one thing I think the majority would love to have. Oh, and those who ask for a special weekend with benefits are definitely seeking permanent change for at least some things...

Of course it had to be broken and Anet did it by accident or mistake, maybe if was false avertising, make it sound good, then after they get your money, make it better.
Sorry to say it was niether, nothing in this game ever started out being overpowered or unbalanced, it was when Anet minipulated skills it when thing became out of wack, and why, well simple just to force change. Call it what it is, forced build modification.
Fine you want Balance, so be it, but just once I would like to experience the chaos, is that too much to ask.
I was new and did not have a lot of the skills that got nerfed because of over abuse by PvP players who only played HA mind you. It would be nice to have seen why Balance was so needed to me, I have great resentment towards Anet for what they did with Balance, it would be nice to better understand it by experience.
Anet's greatest mistake was not making PvP and PvE seperated, that is what caused them to abanden GW and start a new project GW2, Balance and what it is all cracked up to be destroyed the game.
I wonder if Anet will learn from their mistakes???

No spirit limit+pre-nerf Rits is fun.
Or when Balthazar's Aura stacked.
Or SB+RI spike.
Or pre-nerf OOP+OOV+OOA.
Or Aria of Zeal and Energizing Finale.
Ether Renewal smiters.
Pre-nerf Ranger Spike.
Pre-nerf Eviscerate. Goes great with Body Blow.
LoD and Aegis are really good now.
Also, giving people 100 Ectos for almost free is so cool.

Goes to show some people have no ability to read the OP, or courtesy.
He said just a weekend. While materials might be a bit crazy(remember the prices of Sup Vigor runes?), Skills wouldn't be much of a problem. If people don't like it, I'm sure one weekend won't kill them. There are other weekends when people avoid the game.
If it would get your undies in a bind, you have more issues than just the game.
